What’s up, y’all!
gnob was back in the garage last week, as you may already know if you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel. If you’re not, get on it! 😜 I have to say, it felt super awesome to call him out for using the wrong tool for the job lol.
It seems like artwork created by artificial intelligence has been all over the interwebs these last few months, so we had to get in on it. The above picture was generated with Dall-E, and is titled A Toyota 4Runner with one wheel on top of a boulder and a waterfall in the background, digital art. It doesn’t always turn out so great, but it sure is fun to play with! Here is another version with the same title:
This next one is A Toyota 4Runner climbing a rock wall, digital art.
Finally, we have A Toyota 4Runner climbing a rock wall, high quality photo.
The variations are limitless (and free!), so go check it out for yourself. Dall-E obviously still has some learning to do, but we have never laughed so hard. Oh, wait, here’s one more for you. We uploaded a picture of ourselves and asked for a different version.
Video of the Week
Save $$$ - Rebuild, Don't Replace
gnob always says you shouldn’t be wheeling if you don’t know how to work on your own rig. That’s why this channel got started in the first place, so he could share his garage knowledge with people who need it. Yep, it’s only two bolts to replace a power steering pump, but it’s also only two bolts to repair it for even cheaper.
What We’ve Been Into
“Consistency is a superpower.”
This week, we started reading Discipline is Destiny by Ryan Holiday. Not close to finishing yet, though I suspect it will be as eye-opening as most of his previous books. He begins with the fascinating story of Lou Gehrig, an inspiration to anyone who ever met him, and humble to the very end. He showed up for 2,130 games in a row, even through concussions, fractured bones, and the beginning stages of ALS.
How did he accomplish this superhuman feat? By being consistent. From the book, “You cannot be great without the self-discipline to do that. One thing a day adds up. Each day adds up. But the numbers are only interesting if they accumulate in large quantities.” Can’t wait to see what the rest of the book holds.
Quote of the Week
That wraps up another week with Snale Racing! We’ll leave you with the quote that was most powerful for us this week. Alan Watts is best known for introducing eastern philosophies (like Buddhism) to the western world. Peace!✌
