What’s up, y’all!
Woke up to snow on the ground this morning, as if we didn’t have enough incentive to get out of here. But snow be damned, we’re still on track to depart this week.
I spent the week packing and repacking the box that will contain my entire kitchen. I decided what was essential, and then realized I didn’t have enough room for it all, and then had to narrow it down even further. Sadly, I won’t be able to bring my KitchenAid stand mixer, or even sadder, my Instant Pot! 😁 It’s back to the basics: a 12” cast iron skillet and a small saucepan.
And a coffee pot. Can’t forget the coffee pot.
We picked up a few final necessities this week, including an extra gas can and a toilet. I can’t wait to make a video about the toilet, but here’s the hilarious commercial for it:
Dogs are getting haircuts and a vet checkup before we leave. They already freak out when the truck starts up (because that means TRUCK RIDE!!!!), but this time they have no idea what a journey they’re going on. So many new things to pee on!
We’re already lined up to visit with people in every state along the route, but if you want to say hey, let us know where you are, and if you’re somewhere on the green line below, we might be able to fit ya in!
The entire thing is, of course, subject to change according to our whims and fancies, but we do need to be in Baton Rouge by the end of February. That part is non-negotiable. I got a race to run! So if we can’t fit you in due to time constraints, don’t worry, there’ll be more opportunities on the way back.
I also got confirmation there WILL be a crawfish boil while I’m at home, so it’s double necessary we get there in time. On gnob’s first visit to Louisiana years ago, we took him to a crawfish boil after spending the day playing on the Bogue Chitto River. Cause that’s how we do it in the South.

Ep. 7 Snale Racing Modifies a Thule Roof Rack
Seems appropriate to showcase this one since all gnob has been doing this week is making final tweaks and mods to the Snale. This roof rack will be earning its keep on this trip, so I’m glad that he took the time to tighten it up and keep it from rattling.
What We’ve Been Into
I think the only time the TV has been on in the last week was to watch the fights and research camp gear. We get a lot of good info from Trail Recon. They’ve been very inspirational for us in deciding what we want to do with the YouTube channel.
And forget about the NFL! The real Super Bowl this weekend was Saturday night when the #1 and #2 pound for pound (best fighter irrespective of weight class) athletes fought. Makhachev and Volkanovski put on one hell of a show.
They had nothing but respect for each other both before and afterwards. I wish I could say the same for the crowd. I’m so tired of hearing booing at sporting events. It’s so immature to boo a fighter simply because they were born, or not born, in a particular country.
In case you didn’t know, political boundaries are completely manmade, and should NEVER be used as yet another reason to build divides between us. We’re all the same, man.
