Oh baby, baby, how was I supposed to know
Location: Kentwood, Louisiana
What’s up, y’all!
It has been a glorious week here in Louisiana. We’ve been doing our best to capture video of the sights we’ve seen, not to mention the food we’ve eaten! Stay tuned for that video once we’re done here.
In the meantime, let’s talk about what was really important: my race. 🤪 I finished my first half marathon! I also beat my time goal by nearly two minutes, so I was pretty happy. It was a beautiful day in Baton Rouge, the weather was perfect, and the route took us through some great scenery along the lakes and old neighborhoods.
Now on to the Spartan Race in Houston next weekend!
This trip wasn’t all about the race, though I pretend it was. We also had an enjoyable time with my family at a crawfish boil that my sister put on, and we all ate way too much crawfish.🦐
We’re camping out in the woods where I grew up this week, and it’s been nice and relaxing. We’re already starting to plan for our next leg of the trip, though, because we’ll be leaving this weekend. Still haven’t decided if we’re headed straight back to Oregon, or maybe turning completely around once we’re done with Texas and passing back through Louisiana on our way to Florida.
Is it still cold in Oregon? That will probably be the deciding factor. We’re getting spoiled by this good weather.
Another fun video coming your way: my sister, Ellen, also has a YouTube channel, Site to See, where she reviews campgrounds and shares pictures of each of the campsites. She and her family camp in a 45’ RV, so we thought it would be fun to do a video together where we compare our different camping styles.
There’s a nice little creek running through just below our tent, so we’ve been wandering down there with the dogs quite a bit. Other than that, we have been napping in the sun, playing with the dogs, and visiting with family. Which doesn’t make for an interesting newsletter for you, but it’s not all about you, now is it? 😜
Video of the Week
not quite sea to shining sea, but a long, long way in a 4Runner
A short recap of our journey through the mountains, deserts, forests and swamps of these United States of America.
Quote of the Week
That wraps up another week with Snale Racing! We’ll leave you with the quote that was most powerful for us this week. Peace!✌

title track:
fun fact! Both Britney Spears and I are from Kentwood, Louisiana! We took dancing together, but she was much better at it than I was. 😁
To answer your question about is it still cold in Oregon, I live just across the river from Portland - it’s 34 degrees and heavy snow is falling steadily. It’s pretty, but warm sounds nice.
