What’s up, y’all!
Hope this holiday season is treating you well, and that you get to spend it with the people you love most. In case we haven’t told you lately, we are so grateful for you! Thanks for coming on this journey with us.❤️
Got to start out with the best news we’ve had all year - we got the Fairlady generator back yesterday! It looked so amazing when gnob pulled it out of the box, he had to do a double take and make sure they hadn’t sent us something brand new instead.😲 We can’t say enough good things about C.P. Generator out of Fontana, California. Their customer service was exceptional from beginning to end. Highly recommend.
That means it’s time to start packing up the house in earnest, because there’s not much left to do once the Fairlady is gone. Well, yeah, Danny Bonaduce has got to be finished, but there’s really not a lot of work to be done. I mean, it’s all gotta go back together as easy as it came out, right? 😜
Honestly, I’m more concerned with how we’re going to wade through the vast amount of stuff we’ve somehow managed to accumulate in the last eight years. I’m preparing to Marie Kondo my way through all this crap and toss it out. (yes, “Marie Kondo” is a verb 😉)
Have you packed up house recently? I’ll take any tips you want to throw our way.
Video of the Week
Ep. 20.5 Snale Racing Starts Up a 1963 Datsun Fairlady
In celebration of getting the generator back, here’s the very short video of gnob cranking the Fairlady for the first time in 28 years. Unbelievably, it started on the first try. Though maybe it’s not so unbelievable, gnob is really good at this sh*t!🥰
What We’ve Been Into
One of our loyal readers wrote in this week to ask, “What’s up with Costa Rica? You guys haven’t mentioned it in a while.” This may come as a surprise to some of you, because we mostly talk about our epic upcoming United States road trip, but yes, there will be a Latin American grand finale!
I went ahead and pinned our first newsletter to the homepage by way of explanation; you can read it here. We are still planning to eventually move to Costa Rica, but there’s so much beauty in the United States, we decided it would be a shame not to check it out while we’re still here.
And Costa Rica is probably going to end up being our launching pad for exploring the rest of Central and South America. ¡Por eso, he estado aprendiendo español durante los últimos dos años!🤯 So if you have access to HBOMax, my recommendation this week is Garcia!
This story is based on a graphic novel. Garcia was a Spanish secret agent 60 years ago, who was mysteriously cryogenically frozen. He is woken up in modern times by Antonia, who is a young reporter. The two of them team up to defeat evil (of course). But who is good and who is evil? I was constantly thrown for a loop with all of the plot twists, but what a ride!
Quote of the Week
That wraps up another week with Snale Racing! We’ll leave you with the quote that was most powerful for us this week. You can’t make progress if you don’t put in the work. Peace!✌
