What’s up, y’all!
No, this isn’t turning into a food blog!😁 We just ate so good this week, I had to share. I’m not kidding, learning to cook was the best thing to ever happen to me (aside from meeting gnob, of course!🥰). Not pictured were the marinated pork chops that the rice & gravy was originally created for. Also not pictured is the king cake I made yesterday, though if you’re a friend of mine on Instagram (@lostbutlucky) you may have seen it. Too bad if you didn’t stop by for a piece; it’s all gone now, lol!
What is a king cake, you may ask? It’s the most delicious cake there is, and it only gets made in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, and hey, it’s Mardi Gras season!🥳 If you want the best, you have to have Randazzo’s ship it to you, and believe me, I have done that for most of the years that I have been in Oregon. This year though, I thought I would attempt my own rather than pay for overnight shipping, and boy oh boy was it worth it! I made up for it by running five miles today, though.😵💫 10/10 will make that cake again no matter how many miles I have to run, but not until next Mardi Gras!
We’ve been eating well this week because we needed the calories! We have been hard at work in the garage, trying like heck to make our insane goal of a February 14 departure. More on that below.
Video of the Week
Danny Bonaduce gets a Dobinsons Lift Kit - part 1/2
We released the first episode of a new series this week. Though we called it part 1 of 2, there’s probably going to be more than that, because nothing ever goes to plan here at Snale Racing!🤣 No matter how many videos it takes, though, we’ll get it done. We ended the first episode on a down note, because we ran into trouble with the steering box. But here’s a spoiler alert for you savvy newsletter readers: gnob has now acquired the correct steering box, so at least one of our problems has been solved!
What We’ve Been Into
If you haven’t read Atomic Habits by James Clear, you’re missing out on some good stuff. If books are “too long; didn’t read” for you, we suggest you sign up for the series of 11 emails that he kicked off this month to help people stick to their resolutions. gnob thought that the two-minute rule he shared this week was very useful.
The Two-Minute Rule states, “When you start a new habit, it should take less than two minutes to do.” For example, instead of making a vague, large idea for a habit like “keep the house tidy”, change it to “put one item of dirty clothing in the laundry.”
That’s the whole theory behind having atomic habits, making the habit so small that you can actually get it done. Because doing something is ALWAYS better than doing nothing.
If you want to sign up for the emails yourself, you can do so here.
Quote of the Week
That wraps up another week with Snale Racing! We’ll leave you with the quote that was most powerful for us this week. LOL, okay, okay, this is another silly one, but for real, that’s how our projects go! We fix it and break it then fix it again! Peace!✌
